The mid range smartphone market has just received a major shakeup as Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G. Launched on March 25, 2026, these devices bring a host of premium features typically reserved for the flagship S series down to a more accessible price point. From integrated AI tools to a remarkably slim design, Samsung is clearly aiming to dominate the “awesome” segment of the industry this year.
Sleek Design and Stunning Visuals
One of the most immediate upgrades is the physical profile of these devices. The Galaxy A57 has achieved a record breaking thickness of just 6.9mm, making it the slimmest A series phone to date. Despite this thin frame, Samsung has managed to pack in a 6.7 inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate.
The Galaxy A37 is slightly more robust at 7.4mm but shares the same 6.7 inch screen size and high refresh rate. Both models feature Vision Booster technology, which intelligently adjusts color and contrast to ensure the screen remains perfectly legible even under the harsh midday sun. For the first time, both devices also boast an IP68 rating, providing top tier protection against water and dust.
Powerful Performance and Connectivity
Under the hood, Samsung continues to refine its in house silicon. The Galaxy A57 is powered by the new Exynos 1680 chipset, while the Galaxy A37 utilizes the Exynos 1480. These processors are designed for efficiency and high speed multitasking.
A standout feature for the A57 is the inclusion of Wi-Fi 6E connectivity. This marks the first time a non flagship Galaxy phone has supported this advanced standard, allowing users to access the less crowded 6GHz band for faster and more stable internet speeds. Both phones come equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and support Super Fast Charging 2.0, which can refuel the device to 60 percent in approximately 30 minutes.
Enhanced Cameras and Awesome Intelligence
Photography remains a core focus for the A series. Both smartphones lead with a 50MP primary sensor featuring Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for sharp, blur free photos. The difference lies in the supporting lenses:
- Galaxy A57: Features a 12MP ultra wide camera, a 5MP macro lens, and a 12MP front camera.
- Galaxy A37: Features an 8MP ultra wide camera, a 5MP macro lens, and a 12MP front camera.
Beyond the hardware, Samsung has introduced the Awesome Intelligence suite. This AI powered toolkit includes features like Circle to Search with multi object recognition, Voice Transcription for easy meeting summaries, and the popular Object Eraser. The A57 also gets exclusive access to Best Face for group photos and Auto Trim for streamlined video editing.
Pricing and Software Longevity
Samsung is setting a new industry standard for software support in the mid range segment. Both the A57 and A37 ship with Android 16 and One UI 8.5, and the company has committed to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security patches.
In India, the pricing for the new series is competitive:
- Galaxy A37: Starts at ₹41,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant.
- Galaxy A57: Starts at ₹56,999 for the 8GB + 256GB configuration.
Both models will be available in vibrant colors, including Awesome Navy, Awesome Lilac, and Awesome Graygreen. Official sales are scheduled to begin on April 10, 2026, through Samsung online and retail stores.
