Redmi Note 15 5G and Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G Launched: Premium Tech Meets Value

2026 has literally started off with a bang for technology enthusiasts in India. Xiaomi has created another storm in the market with not one but two powerhouse devices: the Redmi Note 15 5G and the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G. At the mega launch event on January 6, the brand had promised to bring flagship-level features to the mid-range segment. Be it the photography enthusiast or the tablet power user, these new additions in the Redmi ecosystem are surely about raising the performance bar sans the premium price tag.

Redmi Note 15 5G: The 108 MasterPixel Era

Undoubtedly, the centerpiece of the launch is the Redmi Note 15 5G, but the company has touted it as the 108 MasterPixel Edition. It is meant for those users who desire professional-grade photography in their pockets. This includes a huge 108MP primary camera that comes with a Samsung ISOCELL HM9 sensor. With this, it guarantees memory captures with crystal clearness even in poor lighting conditions with OIS and 4K video recording.

Beyond the camera, design is one of the most talked-about points. The Redmi Note 15 5G is an astonishingly svelte product with a thickness of just 7.35mm and weighing no more than 178g. It introduces a new 6.77″ curved AMOLED display to the base Note model for the first time. With a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 3,200 nits, the screen offers a cinematic viewing experience that remains perfectly visible even under direct sunlight.

Performance and Power to Keep You Going

The Redmi Note 15 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor at the back. The chipset, built using a 4nm manufacturing process, offers considerable gains in terms of both multitasking as well as performance. Complementing that sort of power is a 5,520mAh silicon-carbon battery with the capacity to support 45W fast charging.

Unique among them is Hydro Touch 2.0, which serves to keep the display responsive even when your fingers are wet. Furthermore, with an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance and MIL STD 810H military grade durability, this phone will survive everyday knocks and bumps.

Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G: An Ultimate Productive Tablet

Along with the smartphone, Xiaomi has also announced the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G tablet to redefine the portable workstation. The device features a big 12.1-inch 2.5K display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is an ideal companion for students and professionals for reading, sketching, or binge watching their favorite shows on its high-resolution screens.

It runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, really positioning this tablet as among the most capable in its price bracket. But what really stands out from the competition is the massive 12,000mAh battery; Xiaomi claims this is one of the biggest in its segment. It also supports 27W reverse charging, meaning that you can use your tablet as a power bank to charge your smartphone on the go. The audio experience is just as impressive as the visuals, complemented by quad speakers and support for Dolby Atmos.

Price in India, Availability

Xiaomi hasn’t been too aggressive with the prices to make sure these devices reach as many people as possible. For this reason, the Redmi Note 15 5G starts at an effective price of Rs 19,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant (including bank offers). It is offered in stunning colours like Glacier Blue, Black, and Mist Purple.

The prices of the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G start at Rs 24,999 for the Wi Fi only model, while the 5G variant with eSIM support starts at Rs 27,999. Sales will commence on January 9 and January 12, respectively, through Amazon, Mi.com, and official retail stores.
