Huawei Mate 70 Air Launched in China with Ultra Slim Design and Powerful Features

Finally, Huawei has officially launched the Mate 70 Air in China, expanding its premium smartphone lineup to include a sleek and feature-rich device rivaling the iPhone Air.

Ultra Slim Design with Celestial Aesthetics

The Huawei Mate 70 Air is particularly remarkable for its ultra-thin body, measuring 6.6 millimeters thick and weighing only 206 grams, making it one of the thinnest flagship smartphones available in the market. The device’s design takes inspiration from celestial themes, with gold thread accents, brocade silk textures, and even a luminous star-ring effect around the camera module. This gives the phone a very luxurious and really futuristic vibe.

Huawei has also focused on durability: the Mate 70 Air includes Kunlun Glass that boasts ten times drop resistance and brocade fiber that provides five times impact resistance, with certification for IP68 and IP69 ratings against dust and water.

Display and Visual Experience

The Mate 70 Air comes with a 7-inch Full HD Plus OLED display featuring 2760 by 1320 pixels for its resolution, including support for 1.07 billion colors, P3 wide color gamut, and 2160 hertz PWM dimming. The screen boasts 4000 nits peak brightness, making it ideal for outdoor viewing and HDR content.

It features smooth scrolling due to a 120Hz refresh rate and responsive touch performance because of 300Hz touch sampling. Further, it integrates a quad-curved screen with minimal bezels for better immersion, especially during gaming and multimedia consumption.

Camera Capabilities and AI Enhancements

Huawei has loaded the Mate 70 Air with some top-notch camera features, powered by artificial intelligence. The rear camera system comes with AI-assisted composition, Ultra HD Panorama, AI Portrait Retouching, AI Glare Removal, and AI Magic Cutout. Users can also choose from personalized color modes such as Nature, Film, Fresh, and Vintage.

It has a 10.7MP sensor situated in a centered punch hole on the front for high-quality selfies and video calls.

Performance and Battery Life

Under the hood, the Mate 70 Air uses HarmonyOS 5.1 and is powered by either the Kirin 9020A or Kirin 9020B chipset, depending on the RAM configuration. It has 12 gigabyte and 16 gigabyte RAM variants and comes with both 256 gigabyte and 512 gigabyte storage options.

The standout features include a 6500 milliampere hour battery, supporting 66 watt wired fast charging over USB 2.0 to make sure that even power users are kept running for a long time with equally fast recharging. Connectivity and Security Features Mate 70 Air supports Wi-Fi 7 Plus, two-way Beidou satellite messaging, and side-mounted fingerprint unlocking. Such features enhance connectivity, safety, and convenience, especially in remote or highly mobile use cases.

Availability and Market Position

Currently, the Huawei Mate 70 Air is available for pre-order in China, and official sales will start from November 11, 2025. Positioned as a direct competitor to the iPhone Air, Huawei offers a more balanced package with a larger battery, enhanced durability, and superior camera features. Although global availability is yet to be confirmed, the Mate 70 Air is sure to turn heads among tech enthusiasts and premium smartphone users all over the world.
