The Indian smartphone market has witnessed a significant disruption today as Aiplus officially unveiled its latest Nova series. Led by industry veteran Madhav Sheth, the brand has launched the Ai+ Nova 2 and the Nova 2 Ultra, aiming to bring premium design and high end performance to the masses. These devices represent a major step forward for the NxtQuantum Shift Technologies ecosystem, offering a unique blend of style and substance that challenges the established leaders in the budget and mid range segments.
Striking Design Meets Personal Expression
The standout feature of this new lineup is undoubtedly the design philosophy. The Nova 2 Ultra introduces a revolutionary customisable back panel lighting system. This circular LED ring light does more than just look good; it serves as an immersive notification hub that responds to incoming calls, messages, and music playback. This visual feedback adds a layer of personality to the device, allowing users to express themselves in ways traditional smartphones cannot.
Both the Nova 2 and the Ultra variant feature bold color options such as Purple, Green, Blue, and Black. The standard Nova 2 also comes in a unique Pink shade, while the Ultra adds a striking Red variant. A signature red accented power button across both models provides a premium touch, signaling that these are not just ordinary budget phones.
Immersive Display and Powerful Performance
When it comes to the viewing experience, the Nova 2 Ultra leads with a stunning 6.78 inch 1.5K AMOLED display. With a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2500 nits, it ensures that everything from gaming to scrolling social media looks fluid and vibrant. Under the hood, the Ultra model is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, built on a 4nm process for superior efficiency and multitasking.
The standard Nova 2 is no slouch either, featuring a 6.7 inch HD Plus LCD display that also supports a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It utilizes the Unisoc T8200 5G processor, providing reliable performance for everyday tasks and moderate gaming. Both devices run on NxtQuantum OS based on Android 16, offering a clean and privacy focused user experience.
Photography and Battery Life Redefined
Camera enthusiasts will find a lot to like in the Nova 2 Ultra, which boasts a 50MP Sony IMX752 primary sensor equipped with Optical Image Stabilization. This is paired with an 8MP ultra wide lens to capture more in every frame. For those who love selfies, the 13MP front camera delivers sharp and clear images. The base Nova 2 features a capable 50MP main camera and an 8MP front shooter, perfect for documenting daily life.
Powering these features is a massive 6000mAh silicon carbon battery found in both models. This ensures that users can comfortably go through two days of usage on a single charge. The Ultra variant supports faster 33W wired charging, while the standard model provides 18W charging. Interestingly, Aiplus has focused on durability as well, giving the Ultra model an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, a rare find at this price point.
Pricing and Availability in India
The pricing strategy for the Nova series is incredibly competitive. The Ai+ Nova 2 starts at 8,999 Rupees for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Meanwhile, the Nova 2 Ultra starts at 16,999 Rupees for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model, with an 8GB and 256GB version also available.
Sales for the Nova 2 will begin on April 14, 2026, while the Nova 2 Ultra will be available starting April 17, 2026. Both devices will be sold through Flipkart and select retail outlets across India. With this launch, Aiplus has not only expanded its smartphone portfolio but also laid the foundation for a connected ecosystem that includes the newly announced PulseTab and NovaPods.
