The mid-range smartphone segment is gearing up for yet another radical transformation with the rising information about the Redmi Note 15 5G. And, of course, the announcement is still a couple of weeks away, but thanks to a series of leaks and the newly rolled-out microsite by the manufacturer, there is little that remains unknown about the budget champion that is set to soon launch. Whether it is a revolution in the photography segment or the arrival of a brand-new, mighty processor, the Redmi Note 15 5G is set to live up to its legendary predecessor, the Redmi Note series of smartphones.
Performance Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Processor
One of the biggest surprises regarding the Indian variant is the presence of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SOC. This is a 4nm processor, specifically designed for offering a balance between efficiency and performance. As per the official teasers, there is expected to be a boost of thirty percent for CPU performance as well as a ten percent enhancement for GPU.
Xiaomi is also promoting the device by claiming that the handset will offer 48 months of “smooth performance without lag,” indicating that the software and hardware combination is optimal and the handset will remain smooth for at least four years. The new device is rumored to be available in different variants, ranging from 8GB of RAM and up to 12GB of RAM, coupled with 256GB of internal storage.
An Amazing Curved AMOLED Display
The Redmi Note line is trending towards a more premium design this time around. According to leaks, the Redmi Note 15 5G will come with a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED screen. This is a drastic change from the flat displays found on typical Redmi Notes. The screen is confirmed to come with a 120Hz refresh rate.
In addition, it is expected that it would come with a display resolution of 1.5K, offering clearer details when streaming and when browsing social media. Because it has high peak brightness and is TUV Rheinland certified, its display is expected to compete with those of smartphones that are twice as expensive.
The 108MP Master Pixel Camera Edition
Photography takes center stage in this new launch. The India model has been teased to come with the 108 Master Pixel Edition moniker and flaunt a resolution of 108MP on its primary camera sensor. This time around, the main lens shall be equipped with Optical Image Stabilization and 4K video support, something that till now has been available in the Pro variants alone.
This camera system will soon be accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 20MP front-facing camera for taking quality selfies. Xiaomi will also incorporate the use of other AI functionalities into the HyperOS 2 system, including the AI Erase and Sky functions for image editing.
Battery Life and Charging Speeds
To keep the device on throughout the day, Redmi Note 15 5G features a battery with a capacity of 5,520mAh. It is quite an improvement compared to the common five thousand milliampere hour batteries in most devices. Xiaomi guarantees this battery has the capability of providing one point six days of usage.
As far as charging is concerned, the device comes with 45W wired fast charging support. Though there may be some international models of this series that play around with silicon carbon batteries of a large size, the one that will come to the market in the country will have a slimmer profile without affecting its battery life. The smartphone will measure only 7.35mm in thickness, which will make it one of the slimmest models of its type.
Software & Expected Price in India
The Redmi Note 15 5G supports HyperOS 2, which is built on Android 15. This is the first device from the company to run on the new operation system, which has enhanced user experience with a new user interface, better connections with other Xiaomi products, and privacy enhancements.
As for the pricing, it has been reportedly hinted by Xiaomi that the phone will debut within the highly competitive sub-Rs 20,000 segment. The official launch event has been scheduled to take place in the Indian market on January 6, 2026, and the phone will hit the stores through Amazon and Xiaomi channels. It is expected to turn out to be the default choice for those preferring to stay within their budgets in the coming year due to its curved design and advanced camera features.
