Today, the product number 23049PCD8G of a new Xiaomi-made phone with a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 CPU and 12GB RAM surfaced, and we expect it to be the vanilla Poco F5.
The Snapdragon India Twitter account later confirmed that this is the Poco F5, which will be the first phone in India to use this 7-series chipset. When compared to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, this platform will deliver 50% better overall performance, 13% better power economy, and 2x better AI performance, according to the company.
These Poco F5 specifications are remarkably similar to the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which is presently only available in China. It wouldn’t be shocking if the two are identical, which means the Poco F5 would have a 5,000 mAh battery with 67W charging and MIUI 14 on top of Android 13. Other specifications should include a 6.67 inch AMOLED display and a 64MP primary camera.
The Poco F-series is the brand’s most powerful lineup. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset may appear to be a step down from the Snapdragon 870 on the Poco F4, but in actuality, the latest Qualcomm architecture improves battery efficiency and performance.
